Prayer
St Mary's Church is very involved in the local community, providing support and
assistance. Clergy and lay ministry take on various roles in schools, residential homes, and other
local projects and events, whilst everyone is able to contribute through our
discipleship programme. Check
here for a complete list of all our groups and activities.
Prayer provides the important foundation for supporting the life of our Parish. Communicating with
God can be done in many ways, and we welcome those wishing to join in with us as we listen to and are led
by the Holy Spirit.
Today we pray for:-
People who work in Thatcham, in shops, offices, factories, pubs and elsewhere.
Keep us, O Lord, in the joy, the simplicity and the compassionate love of the Gospel.
Bless us this day and all those you have given to our care;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

Prayer Services
Morning Prayers are said each weekday morning at 9.00 am.
Our Service of Prayer for Healing and Reconciliation is held at
6.30pm on the fourth Sunday of each month. This is a quiet and peaceful service.
St Anne's Chapel is reserved for quiet prayer during and after communion at
Sunday morning services. Members of our Prayer Ministry Team are always available at
this time if you would like to share your concerns, joys and hopes.
Members of our Prayer Ministry Team receive training from both in-house and external sources so that they are
more able to deal readily with prayer requests.

Prayer Requests
If you would like a prayer to be included in a service please contact the
Parish Office. Alternatively, you may enter your request in the
Intercessions File kept at the back of the church.

Prayer Groups
Please contact the Parish Office for more information about any of
the groups below.
|
Prayer Circle
Prayer requests are telephoned around from person to person until the circle is complete. Requests
are kept confidential. Members of the circle feel very privileged to be able to be able to pray
for those in need and each other. New members are welcomed. All you need to join is a telephone and the
knowledge that God hears and answers us when we pray.

Julian Group

Lent Study Group
This year there are no separate Lent Study Groups since we are currently running a programme of Emmaus Groups.
